iPhone 5 Rumors: 4 Inch Screen - Smaller Dock Connector

You don't have to look around many Apple rumor sites to see that there is a large amount of speculation out there as to how the next iPhone will look. The iPhone 5 Apples next venture into the smartphone market will have to see a pretty big jump in specs as Apple's phones are starting to look aged compared to its competition the HTC ONE X and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. The iPhone 5 rumoured to have a 4 inch screen and smaller dock connector.

iPhone 5 Rumors: 4 Inch Screen - Smaller Dock Connector

One of the strongest looking rumours sites as of late is iLounge this site has got a trusted source who has told iLounge about the next iPhones features. Their source has given them information on the size and dimensions of the phone, the size of the screen as well as the latest upgrade to the dock connector.
The rumours about the screen are that it will be stretched to a bigger 4 inch from the current 3.5 inches this is to compete with the larger screened phones out there. The only issue with this is that the aspect ratio of the screen will have to be changed as well so the previous apps and icons still work with the new phone.

In iLounge's article they also state the new dimensions that they have been told that the new iPhone will be made to, these are in the quote from iLounge below:
What we’ve learned: the new iPhone will indeed be longer and thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S. Approximate measurements are 125mm by 58.5mm by 7.4mm—a 10mm jump in height, nearly 2mm reduction in thickness, and virtually identical width. According to our source, Apple will make one major change to the rear casing, adding a metal panel to the central back of the new iPhone. This panel will be flat, not curved, and metal, not ceramic. Our artist’s rendition provides a rough idea of what this change will look like, it echoes the current-generation iMac design, to be sure.
The other major change that iLounge related in its article was a change to the famous Apple dock connector. The dock connector is reportedly going to get smaller in the new versions of Apple's products. This means that it will take up less space on the device and have fewer pins in it.

These updates are meant to come out in September or October time along with Apple’s replacement of Google maps and the widely rumoured 7 inch iPad.
